I couldn't decide how to get there until the last minute... In the end, I booked both train and airplane. I mean, I went to SF by train, and came back to LA by airplane.
My hosts were sweet sweet people. It was 4minutes walk from the house but they offered to drop me at the station.
They gave me a pastry to eat in the train and an envelope that says "Mako". It was the second time for whole time I spent in LA that I felt already missing the host(s).
There was a pretty card with sweet message in the envelope.
At every time like this, I'm sure it is worth traveling, meeting new people against my shyness, and failing to communicate sometimes.
After I ate the pastry and take a nap a little bit, I moved to the dining car. There wasn't a lot of people. So I spend almost all time on the coastward seat there.
The seat has got a panorama view. I took lots of pictures but none of them tells the actual beauty of the view... I thought I was right to decide to take a train.
All tables are for 4 guests. I was solo, so I sat with 3 solo people :) Interesting.
The youngest boy was going to... somewhere north for farming experience during his summer vacation. A guy was Japanese who was going back to the flying school in Seattle from vacation in San Diego. A man was an ex-Navy who's been in Yokosuka base for years, and he was going to buy a house.
The food was not so good. And not so cheap. But It was an interesting experience to have dinner with 3 solo traveler each has different destination, background and purpose.
My new host was a beautiful single mum with ginger hair. She waited up for me and told me about neighbourhood and things in the house. She explained everything I would need later. I thought she was nice and down to earth.
I was going to take a shower but I fell asleep as soon as lay down on the bed.
